Pro tips for submitting a scholarship or award nomination

1. Keep it brief but meaningful!

a. Think of this like your LinkedIn profile or a conference presentation synopsis: brevity is key! We want to know why someone is deserving of the award or scholarship but know that you can achieve that in 2-3 paragraphs!

2. Ask a colleague or two to submit with you

a. If you ask 1-2 people to write a paragraph, bam, suddenly you’ve got additional content but no one had to spend 2 hours crafting the nomination.
b. If you’re nominating yourself, it’s gives that “3rd party credibility” that can make it easier for us to pat ourselves on the back!

3. Look at the criteria and speak to those aspects directly.

a. This helps the committee evaluate in an equitable manner!
