I'm curious who has a centralized scheduling office on their campus and how the Union interacts with that area. Does the central scheduling office only book the rooms and the respective facilities take it from there? Does the centralized office also coordinate all the room set-ups and the like. Any information, documents, policies, procedures, weblinks, that you can share, including opinions and pros/cons of such a system, are more than welcome!! Thanks! We used to be the Centralized Scheduling Office, now we are the almost Central Reservations Office. For some reason all the research and re-organization we did to provide a more streamlined service was forgotten, and some scheduling functions went out onto campus again. We (the Student Center) do manage the process somewhat, but it is all muddy again. I believe the saying... "Those who do not know their history are doomed to repeat it again..." applies here. -- Wayne 'Otis' Mamed, Interim Director, Student Center Operations =====================================================

Darcy, If you can find any information on this subject please let me know. I saw this topic presented a couple of years ago at the National Conference by Missouri State University (formerly Southwest Missouri State University) and Illinois Institute of Technology. I would highly suggest checking their websites first since they have a wealth of information on them. Good luck! David
