We have a request from a group of students who are also parents to have a specific dining area for children (smaller tables /chairs) in our food court. Has anyone else had this type of request and if so does your union have a children's dining area? Thank you in advance for your input.

John,
We don't have a specific dining area but we have added portable children's seats, like you'd see in a restaurant, to our dining seating area to be more family friendly to our students and guests with children.

We have no specific area for children or any other distinction. Like Joe at Missouri, I also purchased two wooden child seats like you find when you go out to eat and have one in each of our main dining areas. They get used by folks with little kiddos, myself included, and are a nice and inexpensive thing to add. Our custodial staff help keep an eye out for cleaning them when needed.

We also keep the kiddie seats available (self-service). Allows use of the food court for everyone without confining families to a certain area.
