ACUI's Remark. writing and visual arts competition
Make your remark about college unions and student activities
Thank you to those that were able to submit. We did not receive enough submissions this year to hold a contest. Those that did submit may be featured in The Commons in the coming months.
Do you work in the union? Or serve on the programming board or in a student group? Have you ever had an outstanding experience at a program hosted by or at the union?
If you answered yes, then share your story through ACUI Remark. writing and visual arts competition!
ACUI’s Remark. competition is designed for undergraduate students that have had meaningful interaction with college unions or student activities to share their story. Your entry could be an essay, photograph, video—or you could submit all of the above! You choose the best way to convey what college unions and student activities means to you.
As a student, you won't want to miss this unique opportunity! Let your boss, mentors, peers, and whole campus community know what the college union and student activities means to you!
What do you get out of this?
The "best of show" winner will be published in a 2012 issue of the Bulletin, ACUI's member magazine, as well as in The Commons. The first place winner in each category will receive recognition in that same issue of the Bulletin and be published in The Commons. Also, the top three entries from each category will be displayed at the 2012 ACUI annual conference in Boston and will be recognized on the ACUI website.
There are intangible benefits as well. Sharing about your experiences and the positive effect the union and student activities has on your life will be meaningful to all those around you—from your fellow students to your adviser and even to the university president.
General information
The Remark. competition will run from Oct. 10 to Dec. 9, 2011. There is a fee of $10 per entry, and students may enter as many times as desired.
