In 2006, campuses from each coast and peppered throughout the continental United States completed renovation and construction projects. Some college unions were brand-new facilities many years in the making. Others were phased renovations or infrastructure upgrades, while still others renewed spaces through budget-friendly interior design. Regardless, they fit their respective campus’s needs, and the outcomes are some grand student-centered facilities positioned to build campus community now and in the years to come. By sharing these projects, institutions considering a college union renovation or construction can learn more about the various approaches, complexities, and features of the buildings included in the following showcase.
