Job Description - Event Services/Planning Office Assistant
Category: Student employee
Responsibilities: Act as a greeter for individuals in the campus center, or event services office area; answer telephones, check voice mail and relay phone calls/messages to staff members; make copies/send faxes; receive/route office mail. Enter preliminary information for space requests, asking necessary questions for assigning space; review space requests for completeness, following up with client as necessary; search for alternate meeting/event space as necessary; advise student groups on event planning issues.
Assist with daily event management, to include daily binder set-up, unlocking meeting rooms, checking out equipment as applicable. Process payment from vendors/clients for events and invoices. Updates, copies, files event services forms as necessary. Attend required student employee staff development meetings/programs.
Special qualifications: Excellent customer service skills are a must; Ability to work with a minimum of supervision; Cooperative spirit in working with peers, supervisors, clients, and guests; Problem-solving skills in booking space, assigning equipment, or resolving payment
Education: Undergraduate enrollment preferred.
