Job Description - Graduate Assistant, Operations

Responsibilities: Assist the operations manager in coordinating effective delivery of services; Be trained in the student union’s audio-visual systems. Work selected shifts; shifts may include evenings and/or weekends and could be directly in operations, or in other areas of the union, such as A/V.
Be trained in the space reservation system. Run reports from reservation system in order to assist in monitoring client requests and manage daily work flow. Assist the operations manager with the supervision of student staff including: participation in regular meetings of the student staff; updating and continuing to develop the training manual; monitoring audio-visual and room set-ups to ensure exemplary customer service; and coordinating weekend scheduling. Assist with the delivery of event services;
Participate in regular event services meetings; Follow-up with client problems; Communicate with event planning regarding client needs; Attend campus administrative and organizational meetings, orientation programs, and workshops as appropriate.
Special qualifications: Excellent oral and written communication skills; Multitasking abilities; Ability to work with diverse groups of people; Strong working knowledge of computer operations;
Ability to train staff in a variety of skills; Excellent organizational abilities
