ACUI Table Tennis Championships
ACUI collegiate championship tournaments are designed to contribute to social, physical, mental, and emotional development of students and professionals. ACUI further promotes its core value of community through its leisure activities program.
Students who would like to participate in this program must first compete in a table tennis qualifying tournament and receive an invitation to the championships. ACUI regions may be conducting a qualifying tournament, typically in the February or March timeframe, and other institutions or organizations may be as well. To see if your region is holding a qualifying tournament, click this link. Eligibility requirements to play in both regional and international tournaments are outlined here.
College Table Tennis National Championships are underway in Waukesha, Wis., this weekend. Information about the championships is availablehere. The field is full and it promises to be an exciting event.
The top eight men and top eight women from each qualifying regional tournament are invited to compete in the international table tennis championships. ACUI partners with NCTTA to conduct a dual tournament accommodating both singles and doubles events. Prior year results can be seen on theNCTTA website.
A host site is needed to host the 2011 Table Tennis Championships [pdf] with partner NCTTA. Applications are due May 1. Please contact Michelle Smith if you are interested or Willy Leparulo for questions about the bid process.
Sponsors
The ACUI International Table Tennis Tournament has been sponsored by Newgy Industries and Attack Table Tennis. This sponsorship helps underwrite the expenses of the tournament. This year, Killerspin was the official ball sponsor for international play with Butterfly sponsoring the regional events.
Entry fees/forms
Participants are assessed a small entry fee that helps pay for tournament expenses, meals, ground transportation on-site, and awards. Travel to and from the tournament, lodging, and airport transfers are the responsibility of the participants and/or their institutions.
Eligibility requirements for the tournament are shared with students who qualify for the event. Verification of eligibility from the institution must occur for every player and be returned to ACUI prior to participation.
